PAX West 2017 is almost around the corner. As a resident Seattleite who works near the convention center, I’ve selected a couple of nearby places for food that I highly recommend for anyone attending PAX West this year.

Bananas

Amazon Community Banana Stand

Free bananas, brought to you by the company that popularized two-day shipping and online shopping. Fortunately, no sightings of the Yiga Clan…yet.

Location: 2031 7th Ave (🚶 9 minutes)

Brunch

Skillet — Regrade

Delicious brunch food that’s relatively close to the Convention Center. Located on the retail level of the Amazon Meeting Center. Grab a free banana at the nearby Community Banana Stand on your way there!

Location: 2050 6th Ave (🚶 9 minutes)

Food Trucks — Lunch

Recommended: Visit the Seattle Food Truck web site for more schedules and information. (Westlake Park)

Cheeze Wizards

Wizard-themed sandwich truck. When I worked in South Lake Union several years ago, this was one truck I visited frequently. I recommend any of the sandwiches. Order the lemonade too if it’s available.

Location: Friday, September 1st — 2200 Westlake Ave (🚶 11 minutes)

Chick’n Fix

Chicken. ‘Nuff said.

Location: Friday, September 1st — 900 Virginia St (🚶 9 minutes)

Menu: Online

Naansense

Excellent Indian food. Be warned — lines are long around lunchtime!

Location: Friday, September 1st — 2200 Westlake Ave (🚶 11 minutes)

Sam Choy’s Poke To The Max

Hawaiian — If there’s one food truck you have to go to, it’s this one. It’s a bit further than the other trucks over in South Lake Union, but it’s totally worth it. Get the Loco Moco.

Location: Friday, September 1st — 311 Terry Ave North (🚶 16 minutes, 🚗 6 minutes)

Thai-U-Up

Delicious Thai food. Always get the Thai iced tea.

Location: Friday, September 1st — 2207 9th Ave (🚶 11 minutes)

Lunch and Dinner

Kiki Ramen

Located on the retail level of the Amazon Meeting Center, it’s close enough to the office (and by extension, the convention) to call out. Order the iced tea with the ramen.

Location: 2051 7th Avenue (🚶 9 minutes)

Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya

One of my favorite ramen places in Seattle. I go to a different location near home almost every week — it’s that good. I strongly recommend the Garlic Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen — it’s delicious.

Location: 320 E Pine St (🚶 10 minutes)

Lunchbox Laboratory

If you want some of the best burgers and shakes in the area, check out Lunchbox Laboratory. For those old enough to drink, the boozy milkshakes are a must-have!

Location: 1253 Thomas St (🚶 18 minutes, 🚗 6 minutes)

Marination — 6th and Virginia

Conveniently located on the retail level of the Amazon Doppler building, Marination serves up some delicious Hawaiian-Korean lunch fare. I recommend the fried rice and one of the canned Hawaiian drinks.

Location: 2000 6th Avenue (🚶 9 minutes)
