POETRY

Mist and clouds
drape the mountains
with their shroud,
I wonder if
I’ll see the sun again.
Sleet has fallen,
for ages it seems,
evermore when awake
or lost in dreams,
elusive sun
blotted out.

Waxy sheen
of the evergreens,
hues now lost to snow,
soul embraces
the darkness,
flickering embers
of the waning…
