This a really helpful frame. I built SOCAP with a spectrum lens; we started with venture philanthropy, like Acumen, to concessionary non profit loan funds, like Root Capital, to funds that would take some discount to return in exchange for impact, but not always, which is where our Good Capital Social Enterprise Expansion Fund (SEEF) fit, to funds that offered impact with no discount to return, because it replicated the spectrum of asset classes. This goes much further and will I think, especially in a slightly condensed form, be a real guide for investors entering the field. It’s solid work. I think it needs a digest form, alongside this foundational work. This is worth expanding and spreading. I’ll be glad to help. I’ve come to the conclusion that changing the way people think about their money and what it does in the world is the most important task ahead.
