Wordpress Security

Word Press and Securing your Small Business.

Many Small Business owners using Wordpress these days are not securing their site and theme with security malware and updated hacking blocks software plugins that would and could save you from a Malicious attacks and possible data security breaches.

The tools available today are very effective against, root attacks, login and password recovery hacks, blunt force. SQL Injection and DDOS attacks. Really the terms should not matter as your focus should be on running your business and not worrying about having your site compromised or going down, and possibly being blocked by every IP provider and search engine available.

Many small businesses either have a designer build out and host the site or even build it themselves using Wordpress, however forgetting to add some very valuable plugins for security. This is something that is a must have, and if you currently are using a Wordpress for your site, install one or more of these plugins immediately.

Currently after doing further research and based on what I use now and have used in the past for other sites are three plugins I have found to be the best available. They either come in a free version or upgrade to the premiums for a small additional cost. However well worth it.

My Top Three Suggestions are listed below with videos. If your serious about saving time, money and your site as it grows, take the time and watch the videos and get the plugins installed. Especially if you are taking credit cards online.

First thing to install is WordFence. This is available Wordpress in the search feature for new Plugins. As a matter of fact, all three are available now!

You never can be over redundant in security. Therefore you can also add a plugin called Securi.

My Final Suggestions would be CloudFlare.

Again, Take the time to install and get to know the basic security blocks. For example if you currently sell only in the USA then block all other IP addresses from any other country. Many hacks come from IP addresses bouncing from servers from other countries. So take the time and protect your site and Business by adding some simple and extra plugins.

Start with Wordfence as its probably simpler to understand, and when your ready to go freemium and upgrade to premium add Scuri and CloudFlare and delete wordfence. Or you can just stick with Wordfence, just make sure you increase your security settings instead of leaving it at defaults.

I hope this article has helped and provided valuable information for new and existing businesses.
