France Decision to Expel MKO (PMOI / MEK)

The new political situation has prompted the French government to make different decisions about the PMOI / MEK group and to take advantage of opportunities in diplomatic interaction with Iran.

French President Emmanuel Macron’s chief of staff, Alexis Kohler, on his Twitter account announced that in an October 29th meeting between President Emmanuel Macron and French Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, the French government decided to no longer allow the presence of PMOI / MEK on French soil.

This French official who is one of the most influential members of the Elysee palace, Referring to the 40-year presence of the organization in France, cited the permanent deployment of its leadership in Albania, unnecessity to travel to France and Negative consequences of its activities on French soil, declared that MEK leaders’ lack of presence in France would allow EU pressure on Iran during talks to halt Iran’s nuclear and missile activities.
