It cost Nate Parker 7 million to make. He has investors who gave him 7 million who expected their money to be doubled or tripled. Fox Searchlight spent 30 million. It’s a flop. But it’s not because of the art. People weren’t ready to see this film told and sadly didn’t want to see it told by Nate Parker.
