Top Kids Activities for Fall

Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. Watching the leaves turn beautiful and hues of orange and golden brown is really relaxing and refreshing. It is the perfect cool weather for different activities and enjoying the cozy feeling of fall. Cool weather here means the time to get outdoors and have some fun. In general, kids love to enjoy in all seasons but fall is the best time. There are bucket full different activities and special crafts for kids to enjoy. Here, we are going to describe few of the most interesting activities:

Flying a kite

A kite flying is a fall activity that brings out real fun for kids. Because your children are younger, try to keep the kite simple with a single line style. A single line kite is easy to fly for kids. They come in all the different types and shapes like diamond, delta, box, and parafoils. Kids can even pick out special designs like sharks, birds, butterflies, and rainbows to brighten the sky. This is really a fun-loving activity for all kids.

Visit a Local Pumpkin Patch

A pumpkin patch is a great fall tradition for kids. They are usually open throughout October and you can go there with your kids to pick pumpkins. They feature hayrides into the pumpkin fields so you can choose your own pumpkins. Some even have activities like mazes carved into cornfields, haunted houses, and small petting zoos so there’s something fun for all ages. This is one of the most favorite places for all kids.

Geocaching

Geocaching is a modern day treasure hunt using handheld GPS units (and even your iPhone!). The treasures are containers of all sizes that may be camouflaged to blend into their surroundings. Some are in locations you pass every day, others take you off the beaten path into a whole new world. Inside the cache, there will be at least a logbook to sign. The larger caches (usually Army ammo boxes) are filled with inexpensive trinkets for trade (like bouncy balls, stickers, Happy Meal toys, etc). Geocaching with kids is the ultimate treasure hunt and kids love this.

Leaf Play

Most kids love to play with leaves. This is a source for them to get familiar with the natural beauty. Grab a rake and put your kids to work. This is a great way to keep them busy and they will surely love it. There is nothing more satisfying than jumping into a pile of freshly raked leaves. They can do multiple activities with leaves such as art activities and much more.

Leaf Collecting

Another fun outdoor activity for kids during the fall is leaf collecting. They love to collect different types of leaves in different colors. Find a good container to keep the leaves in good condition. They bring the collected leaves home and use them to create artwork or press them in a book so they can dry flat and be used for art or other fun activities.

The great thing about children is that they are so open-minded and creative. So let your kids create their own variations of games in fall. Their own creativity is one of the best sources of relaxation and peace for them.
