On Friday, November 18 at noon, King County Superior Court Judge Suzanne Parisien will preside over National Adoption Day. At this in-person event, dozens of children will be adopted into safe, loving homes, including 16-year-old Hannah.

“Finalizing adoptions for families like Hannah’s is one of the greatest privileges I have as a judge,” said Judge Parisien.

For the first time since 2020, National Adoption Day will be held in person, at the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center in Seattle.

“We are thrilled to welcome families back to the courthouse,” Judge Parisien said. “There is nothing like sharing their joy in person.”

In Washington, there are more than 10,000 children in foster care. More than 2,000 of those children are waiting for families to adopt them. King County Superior Court is one of dozens across the state and nation finalizing adoptions and celebrating all families that adopt.

“Through events like this throughout the country, we hope to encourage families to step forward to adopt all children, but particularly those in our foster care system,” Judge Parisien said.
