Vague tweet alert!

It’s unclear whether this tweet was a general rally cry to “Screw the haters” or if Kris Dunn tweeted this with someone specific in mind.

It could refer to his teammates Cameron Payne and Jerian Grant who will compete with Dunn for point guard minutes next season.

If it’s the latter scenario, it’s a bit concerning that the presumed starter Dunn considers Payne and Grant as legitimate positional competition. Payne had a disastrous Las Vegas Summer League showing and still hasn’t proven he can play at an NBA level.

Grant has some upside defensively and as a 3-point shooter, but doesn’t project as anything more than a backup on a playoff-caliber squad.

Denzel Valentine played mostly off the ball last season, but could assume some more point guard duties as he embraces a larger offensive role in his second NBA season. If this is the case, he could also provide competition at the point guard spot.

As we begin the countdown to Bulls training camp in September, keep an eye on the point guards because a fierce positional battle may be brewing.
