A Playlist To Get You Started On The Deep Web!

Last blog entry, I talked briefly about the deep web. I gave you an introduction on what the deep web is, as well as talking about the surface web and the dark web. Everything in the previous blog post is a great way to start your journey on learning more about this, however after that little taste you maybe wanting more. Therefore, with this week’s post, I created a playlist of videos that discuss the deep web. All these videos were found on YouTube and I think it can help you have a better grasp on understanding this topic.

When creating this playlist, I wanted to include 5 videos that could introduce you to the deep web, as well as what you could find when exploring it:

To start of this playlist, I decided to use this video. I thought this was a great video for beginners to learn more about the deep web. It provides a lot of information on the characteristics of the deep web, as well as an intro to the dark web and how to access it by using engines such as Tor.

2. How Dangerous Is The Deep Web

This video from, Alltime Conspiracies, shows just how dangerous the deep web could be. It discusses some things that you can find throughout the deep web, such as drug-selling sites, online weapon stores, and even the ability to hire assassins. I thought this video could be placed after the intro because it talks about the dark things you can find in this part of the web.

3. “I wasn’t careful enough on the deep web” Creepypasta

For the third video, I thought of using someone’s experience with the deep web. A user by the name of, CreepsMcPasta, uploaded a video where he talks about not being careful on the deep web. For example, in the beginning of the video, he talks about his early history with the deep web. He then goes on and talks about a situation that occurred when he was threatened online for attempting to call the cops on a group chat consisting of criminals.

4. The Deep Web Safety Guide

After showing examples of how dangerous the deep web could be, I thought of adding a video that can act as a safety guide in case someone wanted to actually experience it. The user, GEEKBLOGTV, provides a few quick tips to protect yourself once you venture out into the deep web.

5. The Dark Net isn’t what you think. It’s actually key to our privacy | Alex Winter | TEDxMidAtlantic

To end the playlist, I put in a video that provides another summary of the deep web, but also that this part of the web isn’t all bad. In this Ted talk, documentary filmmaker, Alex Winter, discuss how even though the dark web contains many dark and inappropriate material, it also contains many of your private information on the net as well.

With this playlist, I hope you can gain a better insight of the deep web. This part of the web can be a dangerous place, so by watching these videos, at least you’ll know what you could expect when exploring this side of the Internet.
