KittyCash Alpha Release Announcement
Everyone on the KittyCash Team has been working extremely hard on our development since the introduction of KittyCash this year. We are very proud to say that our kitty generation is now stable. However, we want to roll out the different elements of the game step by step to test our infrastructure and the game mechanics. We need the help of our community to detect bugs and give us feedback on the game.
The Alpha will go live next week. It will allow our players to test the game, explore the basic game mechanisms and get the feel of the user interface. Our developers will be closely observing the Alpha to make sure that the game is fully developed and running prior to our Initial Kitty Offering.
Why don’t you roll out the Initial Kitty Offering already?
KittyCash is a proof of concept for gaming on the Fiber blockchain and we want to make sure that we follow the right procedure to put out a working game on blockchain eventually. One of the steps for that is to run an Alpha, where we incrementally introduce more and more features for the users to interact with the Kitties. Once we are confident that all potential issues and bugs have been resolved, we will launch an IKO and introduce KittyCash to a wider audience with full functionality.
What are the available features in Alpha?
In our Alpha release, we will be giving out free Kitties to all the active supporters of the game. These Kitties will be all of the same breed and that’s our basic domestic cat breed called Tabby. All the Kitties will be randomly generated with different visual features.
In the second stage of the Alpha, players will be able to breed the Kitties but the outcome will always be a Tabby Kitty as other breeds are not available in the Alpha release. Unexpected mutations and illnesses due to inbreeding and crossbreeding will be disabled in Alpha.
Trading is another feature that will eventually be available in Alpha with certain restrictions. Players can trade their Kitties and their offspring, food, and accessories via Marketplace. Please always approach trading with care and bear in mind that you’re trading in-game goods and not a financial product.
Can I keep my Alpha Kitty after the IKO?
During the Alpha release we are providing a limited supply of Kitties to encourage our players and interested community members to join the game and experience the interface while helping us with testing and bug-finding. Once the Alpha is over all the Kitties distributed for the Alpha purposes will be kept and added to a limited supply of Initial Kitty Offering Kitties that will be different to Alpha Kitties. The total amount of Kitties that will exist is not limited and depends on the breeding behavior of the players.
