I am already involve in the Machine Learning Nanodegree and I will finish soon. But I am also interesting in self-driving car (My general interest is Cognitive computing). Congratulations for this idea !

My question : Is it necessary to have a mechanical background to take part of this Nanodegree, as I expect the training will cover the bottom to up self-driving car process.
