An Ecosystem Guide For New Users

Games

There are 3 games currently live or being built in the KOTE ecosystem.

1. Squires

2. Knights of the Ether

3. Our upcoming PvP game, Blightfell

Let’s dive into how all of the assets and systems interact in our ecosystem!

Characters

Villagers

  • Basic Villager: This is a free-to-play, non-nft character that has infinite expeditions. It cannot earn any XP or rewards
  • Villagers: These are free mints, soulbound, with a max of 1 per wallet. They earn 5 XP per boss kill and cannot be initiated or benefit from Rings to upgrade their Royal Tier. They get 1 completed expedition per 24 hours. Mint one here: https://mint.knightsoftheether.com/minting
  • Initiated Villagers: These minted for $33 with no max per wallet. They can have their Royal Tier upgraded with Gear and Rings. They get 1 completed expedition per 24 hours

Knights

  • Knights: These are un-initiated Knights #501–4000. They get 2 completed expeditions per day but cannot have their Royal Tier upgraded until they Initiate
  • Genesis Knights: These are un-initiated Knights #0–500. They get 3 completed expeditions per day but also cannot have their Royal Tiers upgraded until they Initiate
  • Initiated Knights and Initiated Genesis Knights: These function the same as their un-initiated counterparts, except they can upgrade their Gear and Rings to receive up to 150 XP per boss kill

Squires

There are 4 types of Squires

Each type favors their native skill when receiving stat upgrades during quests. Genesis Squires receive slightly more $Fief in the Cavern and Mountain.

1. Strength: Increases the amount of $FIEF you can bring back from the Forest

2. Luck: Increases your chances of bringing back rare items from the Cavern and the Mountain

3. Faith: Increases your chances of receiving Skill boosts from the Temple

4. Wisdom: Increases the chances of successful upgrades in the Jeweler

Initiation

  • Initiation is the act of equipping your Knight and Initiated Villager characters with gear and then minting them as a new, modular NFT. You must have all 10 Gear slots shown underneath your character in the armory filled in order to initiate
  • If you do not have enough Gear to equip your character for initiation you can earn Gear by opening Loot Boxes or you can purchase them here: https://app.treasure.lol/collection/kote-gear

Royal Tiers

  • Your character’s Royal Tier determines the amount of XP your character earns per Boss Kill
  • Upgrade your Royal Tier by upgrading the Gear attached to your characters, and the Rings in the Jeweler
  • The 5 highest-level Rings in your Squires Inventory automatically apply their Royal Tier boosts to all of your characters
  • Your Initiated Characters can achieve a max Royal Tier of 12
  • For the full data associated with Royal Tiers, visit the Data Room here: https://blightfell.notion.site/Blightfell-Data-Room-398e7e973e1d4473b08bfba54b6f4e4e

The Jeweler

  • Upgrade your Rings in the Jeweler here: https://jeweler.blightfell.com/
  • Combine four rings with $fief to upgrade from level 1 to level 2, three rings with more $fief to upgrade from level 2 to 3, and so on up until the max upgrade level, level 5. (The full details can be read on the Jeweler page itself by clicking the red i)
  • You need a Squire to upgrade Rings in the Jeweler and each time you use a Squire to upgrade a Ring, they are locked for 24 hours and cannot quest during that time

The Blacksmith

  • Upgrade your Gear from level 1 to 10 in the Blacksmith here: https://blacksmith.blightfell.com
  • Choose Gear attached to Initiated Knights/Initiated Villagers or Gear that hasn’t been attached to a character yet
  • Pay for upgrades with 2 of 3 types of currency. $Fief, Magic Crystals, (which can be bought with $Magic) or Treasure Fragments
  • Bridge your Treasure Fragments earned in Blightfell onchain and then burn them in the Buy/Burn screen at the Blacksmith to use them for upgrading Gear
  • You do not need a squire to upgrade Gear in the Blacksmith

The Battle Pass

  • Earn XP by beating stage 1 and stage 2 bosses. The higher your Royal Tier, the more XP you earn per boss kill.
  • Unlock $fief, card packs, and loot boxes with each level you progress
  • There are 50 levels on the Battle Pass. The higher levels take more XP to progress through
  • 7,500 XP total is needed to complete a Battle Pass
  • Play for free, or purchase the Premium Battle Pass on the Treasure Marketplace to get even better rewards here
