Educate your Audience

Perspective is everything!

Creating content for people is one of my favorite things to do. I love brainstorming, creating and producing beautiful projects that head straight to the screens of phones, laptops and tablets around the world. For the past two years I have worked with a variety of brands ranging from Non-Profits, Medical Professionals, Video Production, Clothing, DJs/Producers, Artists, and Apps.

In these past few years I have developed the 3 E’s of content marketing. Expose, Educate, and Engage. Right now we are talking about Education. AKA gaining knowledge and context of information or as it is defined in the dictionary, the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction or to gain an enlightening experience.

By taking the time to educate your audience on who you are, what you do, where you produce your work, why you do it and when can they take advantage of this service/product, people can feel comfortable handing over their hard earned money for the trade you're looking to offer.

With information at our finger tips, you have to expect that people are out doing their research. They are always looking for the best prices, highest quality and over all best buy. But, research has shown, that the best price isn’t always the reason people buy things.

Take a look at the iPod for instance. There are countless brands that put out Mp3 players that deliver clean music to your ears and are easily manageable from your computer/laptop. But why did everyone go crazy for the iPod? Was it the way they spelled it? Was it the commercials they played? Or was it the BRAND (Apple) that developed, marketed and advertised it?

People most likely bought the iPod because they wanted to be apart of the #trend. People also do the same thing with Starbucks coffee!

But let’s not dive into the specifics. Branding and educating are not so far from each other. Both are striving to put more information into your head. So what type of education are we looking for when we are creating content for your brand?

Well let’s talk about how your product/service is different from the competition? Let’s assess what you do better than the rest! Let’s capitalize on the strengths, insights and experience your brand has worked so hard to achieve.

With proper context built around your brand, the educated youth can also become infatuated with your brand for perhaps a life time. This of course can lead to countless new customers to sharing you're amazing brand with friends, family and co-workers with the touch of a screen!

So just remember. Expose. Educate. Engage.
