Per your comment below about wondering if the diagnosis is right…
If you feel relief, it probably is. Even if it’s not, having a name for what’s going on is helpful. If nothing else, it’s a starting point…which you haven’t had before.
I have physical disabilities…that have more or less been with me all of my life. I finally got the name “fibromyalgia” about 7 years ago … and that was a relief, except that it is still mostly considered to be “not a real problem” by far too many medical people. In the past two years, we have done MRIs and X-rays and various other things and I have a newer diagnosis of ankylosing spondylosis (which is a fancy way of saying stalactites and stalagmites in my spine) which shows actual physical damage. It’s considered “real” proof of pain and goes much further as evidence for why I should be on disability income than my saying I have fibro.
But the two terms don’t mean much when we start talking about pain, reduced mobility and loss of functioning. That’s pretty much the same as it’s ever been. And I mostly describe my condition in the very technical term of “hot mess”. But it IS nice to have better words for it when I need to really explain it.
I would guess that you will also find it easier to explain to yourself and others if you have a term (or terms) that sum up what’s going on for those who understand those terms. You’ll still have to explain it for the average layperson but then that explanation can be tempered by how much you want to share and how much you want to explain (and if it’s worth the effort).
And a diagnosis is just a word or a few words. Just words, no need for emotional attachment (or fear, distrust, whatever…). A simple label to facilitate communication. I like that you refer to it as your pantheon. That is freaking awesome! It’s also a good word…descriptive, short, and covers what’s going on in a reasonably accurate way.
And if we can laugh at the things that bother us, they can cease to bother so much…for example:

Say hi to the pantheon for me — especially Bob, since he has his shit together better than most people I know. And hugs for everyone, because no one can have too many hugs.
