“Ones I just need nearby” is difficult for me because I have a tendency to hoard (I use ebooks & storage bins because of this). So if those were to expand in number, how would you deal with that? Would it still be only 7 precious books, or would there be like 8 (or more) precious books?

Sounds like a cool organization scheme. Personally, I just wonder how to deal with books I keep because of reluctance to admit defeat/loss of a part of my identity of interests & ones I don’t read or won’t read. Also much referenced books that I have that are now in poor condition that I don’t use much anymore. Ah, memories. Now, I have a storage locker project to do.
