You can’t get ahead without giving back: Maureen Fasano’s Story

Maureen Fasano has always made volunteering a priority. After all, she came from a family of six with parents that made giving back a routine part of life.

“Volunteering is in my blood,” she said. “It’s just who I am.”

That, of course, is why when she met Komen CSNJ Executive Director, Suzanne Corson, at a Monmouth Regional Chamber of Commerce event, she knew Susan G. Komen would be a great fit for her.

“This group of women are tireless workers, and so unbelievably generous,” said Maureen. “It is a true honor working with them, and the opportunity is everything I have wanted and more.”

The group of women that Maureen is referring to are the ladies of the Pink Power Party Committee. The committee meets monthly to plan an annual ladies’ night out event that benefits Komen CSNJ and our vision of a world without breast cancer.

The 3rd Annual Pink Power Party will be held on March 8, 2018 at iPlay America in Freehold, New Jersey. The event, deemed “the ultimate girl’s night out,” is coming into its third year, and is a night filled with shopping, fashion, yummy treats, raffles and plenty of fun.

“The Pink Power Party celebrates being together and supporting one another, which are some of the most important things in life,” Maureen said. “It is such a different feeling being with all women — it makes a huge difference and is very empowering.”

Maureen, when thinking of the Pink Power Party, can’t help but credit all of the lessons she was taught by her parents years ago.

“My parents gave me the gift of being able to see everyone in the same light. That is why I volunteer,” said Maureen. “Volunteering opens your mind and it also opens your heart. You don’t know what people are going through, so you can never judge. Volunteering makes you whole.”

Come meet Maureen and the rest of the crew at the third annual Pink Power Party on March 8th. This event is sure to be one to remember.

It’s not too late to purchase a ticket. Go to https://tickets.iplayamerica.com/ and type in the word PINK !
