Is Robusta Coffee the Best in the World?
Some people might not agree. But, robusta coffee is indeed one of the best in the world. Just like arabica coffee, it depends on a skill to optimize the product to be the best.
The problem is, coffee drinkers do not always identify what they’re drinking. They might be drinking arabica, or apparently drinking robusta more often. What matters most is that the drink tastes like coffee as they would like.
What is Robusta Coffee?
You know, it’s the earthy taste and the cheaper one. But, don’t get me wrong!
Most people identify coffee when it tastes earthy. And being cheaper is one of the advantages. People often consider buying something cheaper and it’s not about quality. Let me explain more below.

So, it’s another type beside arabica and or any other type that recently became popular like Liberica and so on. Each type has its own potential. So the final value depends on the one who is involved in the production process.
It is easier to plant
While arabica type must be planted thousands meters above sea level, robusta coffee is very much like a land plant. It can be planted just hundreds meters above sea level. We know that the higher the land to plant, the more effort should be made. From planting to harvesting it.
So, it’s called robusta from “robust” which means, this one is tough to beat. It has more self defense from any plant disease (has more caffeine).
It is deliciously bitter
Bitter is a type of flavor. Bitter has nothing to do with good or bad. Even though some people have subjectively stereotyped it to be a bad taste.
On the other hand, only the bitter taste of robusta beans can make coffee milk drink to be powerful and exceptional. Or in a simple way, sweet coffee milk is made from deliciously bitter and smoky coffee with good milk.
More caffeine
I think it has been a main reason for people to drink coffee especially in the morning. To get a proper caffeine for daily energizing body purposes.
For a plant, caffeine is a mechanism for self defense. Robusta plant which produces robusta coffee beans has double the amount of caffeine than any other type of coffee plant. This also can be a good reason to choose robusta coffee to be in your morning coffee session.
The best representing aroma of coffee
Today, there are so many coffee beans that produce so many kinds of taste and aroma. For people generally, they don’t recognize many aromas except what they call coffee aroma. It turns out the type of aroma that becomes the standard of coffee aroma is from robusta coffee which is usually dark roasted to be enhanced.
For some people, only the aroma of coffee itself can be suggestively energizing. I don’t know how, but they said it. Lol
It’s cheaper
In the coffee industry, the type that gets more developed often is the arabica variety. So the price could be higher for this kind of reason. Well, one of the reasons. The consequence of this is that robusta coffee will be much cheaper than the arabica coffee beans.
Robusta can also be cheaper than arabica because the plant is easier to treat. It’s already known from the passage above.
