Day 100

Day 100 of writing every day, why, and what else am I up to?

I have been writing a blog every day since the beginning of 2024.

I started as an experiment with something new and was only going to attempt it for 30 days. However, I enjoyed it so much that I just kept going.

Why? Well, I had a lot of thoughts to get out and process, along with mourning the death of my parents in a car accident in Oct 2023 ( read more here)

Getting fired and pursuing a career change while simultaneously trying to make money from my passion, which is to create. My favorite medium for creating so far is leatherwork. No, not the kinky kind; I make wallets, pocket organizers, purses, and more in the future.

For a while there, I was rather enticed to try to make money via writing through various means, but I realized that money isn’t the reason I am doing this, and if anything I say is helpful, then I would hate for someone not to be able to read it due to a paywall of some kind.

I do have affiliate links to Amazon throughout my blogs, which I try to be as transparent about as possible; mostly, I try to be as helpful as I can, and if I mention a book, I try to link the book. Besides, I still haven’t made a single cent from any affiliate link. I could probably make more if I advertised crap to a broad audience, but I only link things that I believe have value or that I have used myself, which makes the links I post rather niche.

But who am I, what am I doing, and where am I going?

My name is Cameron Mueller, the youngest of the three sons of Dave and Joy Mueller. I was born in Papua New Guinea on the mission field, as my parents were ministering there.

I quickly developed a love for adventure, traveling, and a desire to see the world and follow in my parent’s footsteps. Shortly after graduating, I was married to my high school sweetheart and went to New Zealand as a full-time volunteer with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) to share my faith and rock climb.

My time there took me all over Southeast Asia, India, and Australia. my time, however, was cut short due to COVID-19. My pregnant wife and I returned to West Michigan with a couple of dollars to our name to live with my family until we got back on our feet.

It is no easy task to support a family on a single income, let alone buy a house and pursue your passions and hobbies. I am just like everyone else in the world; I have visions of grandeur but am tied down by financial responsibilities. Hence, I would love nothing more than to make money doing what I love. Make awesome stuff encouraging, bring hope to as many people as possible, and share my unique perspective of how I see the world, of which I have seen much but am not finished yet.

I am nowhere near where I would like to be in my expertise in leather, writing, video, and photography. not to mention the countless other things I am interested in. but this is my best shot at it so far.

As I said, I am in between jobs and will possibly not be able to dedicate as much time to these endeavors, but I will always be present. I hope to make what I love the primary form of financial stability, but all good things come to those who wait and work their butts off.

I am currently designing and making a line of leather products for a local cafe called The Stray to showcase some of my work along with that of other creators in the area.

But if you don’t live in West Michigan, you can check out all my other social media accounts, including my website, here.

As I said before, I am not interested in paywalling anyone; rather, I would love to build a community of people who are interested in similar things to me: traveling, philosophy, faith, fitness, adventure, design, and what it means to be better. Through this means, I can support my family by adding true value to the world rather than being another cog.

If you have read any of my previous stories, you know that I believe that everyone is the best at something in this world and that it is all of our own individual purposes to find what that thing is.

If you would like to support me, then the best way is to like, sub, and comment. other ways of supporting me would be to follow my other social media accounts, or you can subscribe directly to me through my Ko-Fi account. Different memberships offer you various discounts on my website, and any money donated to Ko-Fi goes directly to me and no one else.

Let’s build a better-designed world full of people who are full of hope, faith, and life on a mission to be better. God speed.
