In this series of articles, we want to introduce the people behind the CCET Project. One-by-one we will discover more about the individual team members, what their interested in and why/what they work on at CCET Project.
After we have introduced Jun Yeon Byun, we now want to turn to Jeong Mi Lee (Jamie), who is acting as CMO at CCET Project.
Jeong Mi Lee (Jaime)
What is your background and field of interest?
I had been worked at Sales & Marketing Department of Hotel Intercontinental Seoul for 12 years as a social experience that takes the first step into society. It had been became an opportunity to solidify the foundation of management planning and marketing activities including public relations and marketing. Since then, I have been working in the CDM and renewable energy fields for the past 8 years, and it has triggered my great interest towards the environment. We can all recognize and feel about the disastrous climate change. If we do not try to prevent global warming by unifying all the people of the world and protect the environment of our planet, our planet will lead to a road of destruction. I believe that our future and happiness cannot be discussed without a viable environment.
How and why did you end up at CCET?
The blockchain system is one of the fourth industrial revolutions, and the impact on our society is magnificent. In this process, we are also well aware of the necessity and potential of the blockchain system, and I was wondering how I can apply the system into our business in the current era. If the theory works out then complexity, transparency, and accessibility of CDM & CERs can be solved at the same time.
What exactly are you doing at CCET?
In order to let all the people know a blockchain platform for the creation and transaction of mandatory carbon credits (CERs), I have been kept informing to the public in terms of the necessity and legitimacy of CCET Project. And also I am encouraging the prosumers of small-scaled energy producer to participate for the Program of Activates (PoA) which is one of the CDM methodologies with blockchain system and have responsible for promoting the technical issues and management planning.
What is your biggest achievement at so far (in your career / at CCET)?
After participating in a climate change response program in developing countries by accident, I joined the CDM project of the greenhouse gas reduction project, and was able to directly experience the CDM project, especially the CDM PoA (Program of Activates) development. Many people have to participate directly in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions even more reliably and with less investment, it is necessary to systematize the PoA program of CDM for inducing individuals with a blockchain system. I am the first person within CCET Project who has strongly suggested that a CDM program should be followed and analyzed the relevant CDM program in detail to plan a blockchain system for generating and trading carbon credits in the mandatory markets.
What are you most excited about regarding the future of CCET?
I am proud to be part of the first project in the world to demonstrate our blockchain system for carbon emission mandatory markets and we believe that our project will lead the global carbon market in close cooperation with the UNFCCC (UN Framework Convention on Climate Change). In addition, the compensation system for individual participation for greenhouse gas reduction was not structured, so it was impossible to encourage participation of Micro-Grid or TTN (Trans-Transport-Network). However, if CCET system is settled, I do not doubt that it will be an opportunity to present practical direction for greenhouse gas reduction.
What are your personal interests / hobbies / etc.?
I loved nature things with flowers, and I had dreamed of deviations for a while and spent quite a long time with them. I hope that I will be able to be returned to my favorite factor again someday, with good memories of that time. I love every minor kind of things raining, wind, tree, flower, etc. including movies, music and ballet which enriches my emotions. Once the ideal of CCET project is settled down finally, I want to spend a time for creating a cultural space where I can enjoy various arts that I like and share the beauty with people.
