the Power SHOW

Power in one way or the other gets to intoxicate a few who do not know how to use it, I get to wonder why people always want to oppress another just because they have or assume to have some power back up — Mr. A on his Army Military Uniform jumped off the Motocycle on which he was rode shouting and ranting at Mr. B, he was seated calmly in his car trying to explain himself, Mr. B sounded right and was just on a casual outfit, the crowd were more concerned with Mr. A as he can do and undo, this was happening in front of a Police divisional HQ so they had come to settle, the police officers insisted Mr. B steps out of his car and requesting for an ID; Yekpa! He’s a superior officer to Mr. A in the Army.

I was wowed by his humble nature to quietly sit in his car trying to resolve issues calmly without anyone knowing who he is. We sure don’t know who it is sitting, standing or even doing business with us daily, the same way we assume they could be potential clients, is the same way we should assume they could be more powerful than us whenever our ego choose to take us to that point of “Do YOU know me?” or “I will show YOU who I am”. Indeed, there are still mannered people who don’t abuse the powers they’ve been availed even when there’s a need to. We often get into bigger troubles trying to be who we are not just because we lose our self control — Be careful not to be WOOED just when YOU think YOU’ve been WOWED!

Friends, the SHOWOFF we always want with our powers isn’t who we are, it’s just that unusual seconds when we ‘pridefully’ loss the control of self especially when we have to be the one who’s correct; the ones with the real powers to do, undo and redo always don’t shout it, they just take action when the need be.

What if after all the shouting, ranting and chest-beating of who YOU are, YOU get to know the other party is a superior?
