The debate on cultural appropriation shows that we will never live in a society that puts humanity before tradition. All cultures steal from one another to better their own. It’s been like this for years and only because we have the internet that doesn’t mean that our debates are of any importance and substance. 2016 is the year of the monkey and all that we’re doing is monkeying around (nice) debates that cause no real tangible progress. Rather than thinking of who may take offense, think of the lives we take so we can have these debates on our social medias, think of the hypocrisy we promote on a daily basis when we champion ourselves as paragons of virtue when we’re instead horsemen of death, famine and plague. Now go on and live a chilled life.
