Technology Integration
Technology Integration
I believe technology is an important part of education in the classroom. There are so many different things you can do with technology using anything from desk top computers, to Chrome Books, to iPads. Our school is very technology driven. We incorporate technology every way we can into everyday learning in the classrooms.
Our teachers each have a webpage on our schools website. On this webpage each teacher (more in the older grades) have assignments listed each week. For example in third grade the teachers put all reading lesson on the computer. The students must study their vocab words by doing the different activities and complete assignment. My son who just finished 7th grade did all of his science assignments online using Moodle. Every assignment and every test was done and completed this way. In the elementary schools in our district, every classroom has at least 2 desk top computers, multiple iPads and the use of a Chrome cart for test taking or doing daily assignments.
All Accelerated Reader tests are taken online, all standardized test were taken online, starting in 3rd grade we begin teaching the students how to do reports using Google Chrome. All students in our district have their own Google Chrome account beginning in 3rd grade that they use until they graduate. iPads are used for reading, AR tests, math games such as IXL and Cool math games, etc.
We love technology and use it whenever, wherever, and however we can. It’s a big part of these kids futures and starting with it now gives them that extra edge for when they get older. A lot of what they do in a day is done by using technology. I’m all for it, I love it!!
