I disagree, you don’t have to be “damaged” to be a writer. The wonderful thing about writing is that you can write about anything and even the most boring of people can find an outlet. Look at poetry for example, most works of poetry are about some of the most mundane things in life like religion or leaving home. Besides, your not a boring person, you have experienced some of the most universally felt lows and seemed to have moved on from it. So look at yourself, think of your low points, think of the advice you would have valued back then. Try to capture your feelings, the lesson you have learned from it in a essay or work of fiction. As for no one listening to you, I’m afraid most of us are in that boat and the only advice I can give here is fuck it, people may not be reading but this isn't about them, this is about me.
