Education is one of the most powerful weapons in fighting poverty. However, lacking substantial educational infrastructure can face a number of unique problems: rural access, gender inequalities, child labor, and more.
Online volunteering is a energy for universal progress.
I believe if we want to bring a long lasting and sustainable change to the society, we must start working with an NGO.
NGO a non-governmental organization is a not-for-profit organization that is independent from states and international governmental organizations. They usually work on funds by donations.
The World Bank classifies NGOs as either operational NGOs, which are primarily concerned with development projects, or advocacy NGOs, which are primarily concerned with promoting a cause.
An NGO can be:
- Community-based Organizations (CBOs) arise out of people’s own initiatives. These can include sports clubs, women’s organizations, neighbourhood organizations, religious or educational organizations.
- Citywide Organizations include organizations such as the Rotary or lion’s Club, chambers of commerce andindustry, coalitions of business, ethnic or educational groups and associations of community organizations.
- National NGOs include organizations which have state and city branches and assist local NGOs.
- International NGOs Their activities vary from mainly funding local NGOs, institutions and projects, to implementing the projects themselves.
The overall data states that working with an NGO is the part of one’s will and as we discussed it is a non profit organization so its just a work done for the cause of mankind.
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does. -William James
NGO activities are not limited to, environmental, social, advocacy and human rights work. Since they also work to promote social or political change on a broad scale or very locally. NGOs play a critical part in developing society, improving communities, and promoting citizen participation.
