I applaud Fred and Tony for thinking outside of the box and having the employees happiness and work satisfaction be so high in their focus for building a company that will last. Having toured the Zappos facility several times, seen the change that The Downtown project has brought, and now being based in Vegas, I can say that Zappos is considered a great place to work and anyone who visits can plainly see that. I suspect that if other companies that haven’t yet strove to create the culture that Zappos has would indeed see a higher attrition rate if they offered Teal. Zappos isn’t afraid to be different. It’s in their DNA.
