What I learned from this Jackie Hill Perry video.

It was 4 mins to ten o’clock. Friday night.
Here I was watching “Gay Girl, Good God: The story of Who I was and Who God has always been” (you can check it out here).
Awkward you say?
But hey, I believe it was God’s doing because every word in there is truth.
And I’m telling you, I was hooked; I kept replaying the video, trying to assimilate all that she was saying.
And my personal take-aways were?
1. If you put your feelings above scripture all the time, those feelings will put you to death every single time.
The capacity to desire, those feelings are God-designed for his glory.
But immediately we exalt our desires above what God says, then we are in for trouble.
Those feelings might mislead us. That’s why the WORD of God should always have preeminence over how we feel.
2. When the Holyspirit comes into someone’s life, He completely makes them new.
Because He and He alone has the power to make things new.
He gives men the power to overcome every form of temptation.
It will not happen overnight though, but He will definitely lead you in the way you should go.
That way is perfect peace.
3. The Gospel is not, you’re coming to God to get healing, prosperity, deliverance. Big No! The Gospel is, you’re coming to God for Jesus — the relationship God has made available to all of mankind.
This is the basic truth we should all hold onto.
At the center of it all should be Jesus — our relationship with him.
And not some promise.
Because the more we love him and draw near to him, the more he gives us power to overcome every form of temptation.
The more we love and trust his word over our feelings.
The End!
