A waxing phase upon this moon

Long time coming ever soon

Turning right from absent sight

Burning bright this active light

Angles played in night and day

Filling fast to fade away

Repetition, recognition

Luminescent essence bringing

Phases change as phases go

Yet we graze the place we know

Underneath a vibrant show

Circulating stars that glow

Soon the phase will start to wane

Less and less will light remain

As it goes, in time and moon

Begging us to ask how soon

Will the we view the lighted crescents?

Featured in such luminescence

Reflections of our incessant

Hope for the return of essence

And it all does beg the thought

What’s to learn from beauty lost

If it will return from not

The same phase change, the same moon sought

Seems the cycles circulate

In just enough time to relate

Moments I can’t understate

Early memories of late

So to the moon my eyes will gaze

Despite the light of nowadays

Upon me this is never lost

The phases fade, but I will not.
