The greatest gift that can be gained

Is never wrapped in cellophane

Nor bought or sold or sought with gold

No purchased merchandise obtained

I’d give the gift, if you’d accept

But how long would my gift be kept?

Before it’s wealth is on your shelf

So far pushed back that you forget

But ask, and I will give it still

I’ve far enough, I’ve had my fill

There is no need to have such greed

Since when it’s given it’s refilled

‘L’isten, for I’m not sure it’s clear

‘O’f what I write about so dear

‘V’ery well, I guess I’ll tell

‘E’nable it and it appears

So give it from your heart and soul

I know that it’s repaid tenfold

And if it’s not, what have you lost?

For love is never bought or sold

When is the last time that you gave?

And did you give it all away?

There is no need to have such greed

It’s the greatest gift that can be gained
