Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick has filed a grievance against NFL owners for collusion. Kaepernick has chosen to file this with a personal attorney rather than through the NFL Players Association (NFLPA). According to Kaepernicks lawyer, Mark Geragos, the grievance states that the NFL and its owners “have colluded to deprive Mr. Kaepernick of employment rights in retaliation for Mr. Kaepernick’s leadership and advocacy for equality and social justice. Mr. Geragos tweeted out that he had filed the grievance “only after pursuing every possible avenue with all NFL teams and their executives.’’ It is well known knowledge that Kaepernick is better than about 5 or 6 quarterbacks that are starting in the NFL right now. So it’s no wonder that he is filing for collusion against NFL owners, who are presumably scared that signing Kaepernick will destroy their ticket sales as well as merchandise sales. The only thing that is killing Colin’s case, is the fact that he opted out of his contract in March 2016 on his own. The NFL Players Association said in a statement that it had been in contact with Kaepernick for the past year about his options, but only recently learned about his desire to file a grevance.
