Amazon’s Whole Foods Plan: Out With Coupons, In With Robots?
Nicole Dieker

Coupons do seem like they’re going the way of the dinosaurs, but for good reason. I rarely get good deals from coupons. Most of them either offer really low discounts or require you to buy a very large number of items in order to receive the offered discount.

Also, given the switch from print media to online magazines and newspapers, there are a lot fewer paper coupons floating around these days. If I were specifically looking for coupons, the only thing I can think to do would be to buy a paper, and the savings I would get from any coupons I clipped would probably just cancel out the cost of the paper itself.
