When Self-Care Is a Mask for Conspicuous Consumption

Self care: Eat well. Get sleep and exercise. Figure out everything free/ low cost to do in your town and take advantage. Read. Drink tea and eat chocolate. If possible, work a job that is challenging, but not too demanding of your time. Buy and wear only comfortable bras and shoes. Take the money you would’ve spent on $40 bath scrubs. Put it in your retirement account, or use it to go to Europe or to book a hotel a few hours’ drive away for the weekend.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?
