Units from Los Angeles County Fire Department Battalion 20 fought a Commercial Building Fire in 18’s district. The building was vacant and there were no injuries to civilians or Firefighters. Units Assigned: LF170, Q162, E18, E161, E171, E173, E21, S161, BC18, BC20, INV 1, INV 4, INV 5, SO3, MAU 165, Heavy Equipment (Excavator)

The Los Angeles County Fire Department was standing by and ready to respond to participants at the Sketcher Performance LA Marathon. The Los Angeles County Fire Department was proud to work with all partnering agencies to ensure that all participants were safe and had an enjoyable 26.2 miles on the course. The planning and cooperation was very important because the marathon route encompassed the cities of Los Angeles, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.

The Godbey Incident was reported 6:23 pm. Engine 82 arrived on scene of a brush fire approximately 30 ft x 40 ft. Copters 12, 17 and 16 supported suppression efforts by making approximately four water drops. There were no reports of injuries or severe structure damage.

Tuesday February 16, 2016

At 9:41 am units from battalion 11 responded to a commercial building fire. Engine 129 reported heavy smoke coming from storage facility. A 2nd alarm was initiated to help with fire attack. The fire was knocked down at 10:54 am. A 3rd alarm was called to assist with extensive overhaul. There were no reports of injuries, but 25 units had structural damage.

At 10:06 am, units from Battalion 7 arrived on scene to a LA county sanitation facility where a patient fell 13 feet down an enclosed channel. Firefighters proceeded into the confined space to secure the patient. Members of the LACoFD Urban Search & Rescue Team worked with onsite crews to safely raise the patient through an opening. The patient was monitored and transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital.

Shortly before 9:00 am, units from Battalion 20 and 18 responded to a report of a commercial building fire in Inglewood. The first arriving unit reported fire from a window on the third floor of a church. The fire was contained to one room and knocked down in 15 minutes. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
