Interested in having your art to be some of the first-ever minted on the Lamina1 blockchain? Now is your chance.

As Lamina1 prepares to launch EVM functionality and a v1.0 NFT marketplace on Testnet, we are calling for creators of all ages, nationalities, and creative backgrounds to submit their artwork for a community-wide competition designed to champion Metaverse creators on L1.

For the next week — February 27-March 5 — Lamina1 will be soliciting submissions from Web3/Metaverse/NFT artists across the L1 community via this form.

In particular, we are looking for original, never-before-minted work across genres and aesthetics that show just how diverse NFTs in the “Open Metaverse” can be — from interoperable avatars, to vibrant digital landscapes, to generative/data-driven art projects, utility NFTs, wearables, PFPs, and beyond.

To submit a work, we are asking that interested creators submit stills only (we will be expanding to other formats like video, 3D models, and music/sound art NFTs later on). If you are a video artist, model-builder, or other type of NFT creator, you may also submit a still or screenshot of your project with a link to/description of the project it came from for consideration.

Note that submissions will be accepted from both individuals and groups/collectives, but that any stolen works submitted, spam submissions, or abusive/inappropriate content will immediately disqualify you from our End-of-Testnet Giveaway and future incentivization opportunities on Lamina1. Additional specs and content packaging recommendations can be found in the submission form itself.

For any additional questions, an AMA will be held on Friday, March 3, at 11:15am PST entirely focused on this week’s creative call-to-action. You can also reach out anytime on the Lamina1 Discord (see the new #L1-Creator-Competition channel, in particular) for a response from our core team or moderators.

Once submissions close on Sunday, March 5 at 6 pm PST, a special selection committee from the Lamina1 core team will review all entries for authenticity, innovativeness, and creative merit. From there, a handful of winners will be selected to have their work minted on Testnet and used to evaluate how NFTs will be bought, sold, and traded on Lamina1.

NOTE: If selected, your artwork will be purchased, exchanged, and test-minted by Lamina1 testers using valueless L1 tokens, and you will not receive “real” L1 tokens or compensation for their use. However, you may have the opportunity to mint your artwork in later network launches.

Winners will also be featured on the L1 Discord and social channels as part of a two-week campaign beginning Monday, March 13th highlighting L1 creators to our 32K+ strong community of Open Metaverse builders, leaders, and investors.

To protect your work for future minting and designate that this is a test-minted asset only, all featured assets will be watermarked with the creator’s handle upon launch.

We encourage all artists to join us, and we look forward to seeing how your NFTs can help us showcase the endless possibilities of the Open Metaverse together!
