Note: Airdrop 2.0 ended on 12/31/23 and can no longer be claimed by L1 community members. Those who claimed during the dedicated window can continue to withdraw through the end of Betanet. Stay tuned for updates as we move toward Mainnet in 2024.

Attention LAMINA1 Builders — After a successful Betanet airdrop test run earlier this fall, we’re excited to announce that another token drop is now live on the LAMINA1 Discord. If you joined us and participated in a Quest or Betanet test initiative anytime before today, December 1, 2023 you are eligible.

The L1 core team is looking at this second airdrop as a way to put test tokens into the hands of as many L1 community members as possible so that you can start engaging with the chain and some exciting upcoming test initiatives, especially if you’re new to LAMINA1.

Read below for distribution, claim, and eligibility details for Airdrop 2.0, and make sure to claim within our new drop window, which runs today 12/1 through December 31, 2023.

Airdrop Overview

Right now, we have about 10 million unclaimed tokens from the first airdrop we held in October 2023, which set out to allocate around 30 million tokens total to L1 community members to facilitate testing and engagement on Betanet.

By the end of our initial month-long claim period, about one third of those tokens went unclaimed by inactive community members. So, we decided to distribute about half of those tokens back to the community, with the remaining half going to the L1 Foundation to fund upcoming builder/incentivization initiatives later on.

Unlike last airdrop (which awarded token allocations based on community engagement) this 2.0 drop will be evenly split across the following allocations:

  • 3 million to everyone who already claimed (~287 Tokens Each)
  • 2 million to new members & community members who didn’t claim during the last round (50 Tokens each)

From there, the L1 Foundation will grant an additional 1 million tokens to what we’re calling “bonus packs” — which will go out to participants in our latest Betatest quest and workshop initiatives, as well as our validators, whitepaper translators, L1 creator competition winners, and community members who have recently launched on-chain projects.

Unlock windows for this second drop will also be shorter than our previous airdrop. If you remember, our first drop had a one year vesting period. This follow-up drop will unlock in just 60 days, which means you’re going to get more tokens per withdrawal, relatively speaking. We’re also going to shorten the unlock periods for this second drop to 24 hours — the goal being, once again, to get more tokens into the hands of all L1 community members in advance of some upcoming Spaces and test initiatives.

Remember: These are Betanet test tokens. They are not planned to be one to one redeemable for Mainnet tokens when LAMINA1 launches sometime next year. Instead, they will allow you to participate in upcoming Quests and test initiatives through the end of Betanet, which you can redeem for XP on Zealy and use to amp up your engagement score on the L1 Discord.

As before, we are continuing to track a combination of Zealy scores, Discord engagement, and on-chain data for all L1 community members to inform future incentivization opportunities, giveaways, and upcoming drops as we move toward Mainnet launch. For more information about the unique incentivization model we’re using, check out our first Airdrop post here, which gives a more in-depth explainer.

As for how you can use your tokens in the L1 Betanet ecosystem, see the green overview graphic above, which lays out some of the current and future use-cases. In just a few weeks, we’ll be rolling out a new Studio Tab and our next Space on the LAMINA1 Hub that will encourage even more test transactions in our emerging ecosystem. So start saving, withdrawing, and putting your tokens to work through delegation now.

How to Claim

For our OG members, instructions on how to claim Airdrop 2.0 have not changed significantly since the last drop, though you will now see two different allocations come up when you type in your /balance command into our designated claim bot.

If you have already claimed your airdrop from the first round, you will not need to reclaim to be eligible for this one. Simply use the same /airdrop balance and /airdrop withdrawal commands to check your rewards totals and pull out new tokens according to your unlock schedule.

For those who are new to the LAMINA1 community, simply follow the steps and video tutorial below to claim your token allocations and begin withdrawing every 24 hours:

STEP 01: Make sure you have a Lamina1 Hub account connected to Betanet before you begin. To get one, visit https://hub.lamina1.com/ and follow the instructions here: https://docs.lamina1.com/docs/Onboarding-to-the-LAMINA1-Hub

STEP 02: Join or visit the LAMINA1 Discord at https://discord.gg/lamina1 and follow the verification steps to join the L1 community.

STEP 03: Once you’re in, navigate to the #betanet-airdrop channel via the left sidebar and type in the command:

/airdrop balance

Then hit enter. This command will allow you to check your airdrop eligibility, balance, and lock-up schedule for receiving rewards.

STEP 04: Next, in the #betanet-airdrop channel, type in the command:

/airdrop claim

Then input your LAMINA1 Hub C-Chain address (beginning with 0x… copied directly from your LAMINA1 Hub account) in the empty address field to claim your airdrop funds and make sure you receive a token allocation before the claim period is up.

NOTE: You only need to use the claim command once, but you may use it again if you’d like to change the address to which your tokens are sent.

STEP 05: Finally, in the #betanet-airdrop channel, type in the command:

/airdrop withdraw

Then hit enter. This will allow you to withdraw unlocked tokens according to your lock-up schedule (For the first airdrop: 1-year lock-up, with the ability to withdraw every 72 hours. For the second airdrop: 60-day lock-up, with the ability to withdraw every 24 hours). Every time you enter this command, you will withdraw from any available balance from either drop.

Note: Discord will only allow you to post once every 60 seconds, so if you enter commands more frequently than that, it will ask you to wait.

Moving forward, all L1 community members will be able to continue withdrawing test tokens with this process through the end of Betanet, which is currently scheduled on our roadmap for Q2 or Q3 2024. See the video below for an example of what you should be seeing when you type in these commands.

Ignore the 3 additional admin prompts in this video, which will not appear for L1 community members ;)

NOTE: If you joined the L1 community after this post went live on 12/1, you will not be eligible for either airdrop. Instead, check out our #quest-onboarding channel on Discord for more information on how to get involved in our Quest system so you will be eligible for future drops.

Airdrop 2.0 Quests

Finally, for community members participating in our regular Betanet Quest initiatives, we are releasing four new challenges on the LAMINA1 Zealy you can redeem to boost your engagement score by participating in the drop.

The secret code you can redeem for reading this article is: A1RDR0P2.0!

We also encourage you to spread the word that this drop is happening to other L1 community members on Discord and Twitter. See here for the post you can amplify.

Finally, our last two Quests require you to submit screenshots to our Zealy pages on the designated Quest pages here and here. Make sure you take screenshots that look similar to the confirmation messages shown in the video above to successfully claim your XP.

That’s it for now. Happy Questing (& claiming) in this 2.0 drop!
