Following its token genesis event on May 17th, LAMINA1 will begin onboarding the public one day ahead of Consensus on 5/28, 2024.

Attention metaverse builders: The beginning of a more open virtual world and on-chain economy starts now.

Lamina1, a platform and protocol for the next era of digital content and co-creation, just marked the official launch of Mainnet following the rollout of its network and genesis block on 5/13, and the deployment of its initial validator nodes on 5/17 — which put the new creator-first chain’s operation into motion.

The token genesis event (TGE) lays the foundation for an open metaverse ecosystem powered by Lamina1, built on Avalanche consensus, as well as the creation of 500MM L1 (its native currency), which will rise with inflation to 1B L1 via rewards over the next 10 years. This growth will be driven by the innovation, creativity, and support of open metaverse builders and creators around the world, who will begin onboarding shortly.

To mark this year’s Mainnet launch, Lamina1 will be a premier sponsor of the Gaming & Immersive Worlds Summit at Consensus 2024, with co-founder Neal Stephenson taking a prominent role.

At the event, the project will showcase its developments, demo several new features and partnerships, and kick off a major go-to-market campaign designed to enhance its visibility and engagement.

Now that the chain is live, Lamina1 and the Open Metaverse Foundation will also begin initiating the onboarding of their core teams, strategic partners, featured artists, and a select group of early testers from the Lamina1 community, starting May 17th.

The general public will be invited to begin onboarding on May 28th, just before the chain announces its official launch at Consensus 2024. From there, the launch of staking, voting, and rewards unlocks on the platform will begin shortly after.

Token listing details and dates are yet to be announced.

Founded in June 2022 at Consensus by author/futurist Neal Stephenson and Bitcoin pioneer Peter Vessenes, Lamina1 reaches this significant milestone in its development exactly two years after it was officially announced at Consensus 2022. The company has been led by Co-Founder & CEO Rebecca Barkin since January 2023, and is home to a rapidly-growing community of open metaverse builders, creators, and developers.

The Open Metaverse Foundation (OMF) is a non-profit that supports the LAMINA1 ecosystem with the mission of building an open metaverse — one where digital builders, creators and consumers have more ownership and agency over their online worlds. To this end, OMF funds protocol development, promotes ecosystem growth, and advocates for LAMINA1.

Alongside Mainnet, Lamina1 will be relaunching a new version of the Lamina1 Hub, its wallet/onboarding platform that is powered by the Lamina1 tech stack and protocol.

While the chain is now live, the Lamina1 Hub platform itself will continue on in Beta, with a number of upcoming quests and incentivized testing for Lamina1 community members, builders, game developers, and creators, in the Mainnet period to come.

To track along with the upcoming launch, and receive live updates on how to onboard, begin creating, and start trading with L1, follow Lamina1 on X/Twitter and join the Lamina1 Discord community at https://discord.gg/lamina1.

To everyone who’s been along with us for the journey so far — this is just the beginning. We can’t wait to kick off the next era.
