Electric LA — EV Truck Future

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to talk about what the Ports of Los Angeles would look like if served by a fleet of 100% electric trucks. This summer, Mayors Garcetti and Garcia committed to a vision of 100% zero emission trucks servicing the Ports by 2035. Even though 2035 is far away, actions must be taken now to make sure this directive is achieved.

At the end of the day, we were able to view some advanced technology trucks. Here’s what one of the EV trucks looks like.

Here’s what the front of the truck looks like. Ten bucks to anybody who can find a tailpipe on this truck.

Electric trucks capturing the imagination of onlookers.

In the end, I believe companies like BYD, TESLA, TRANSPOWER, and US Hyrbid are going to be the real entities that move the football down the field on zero emission trucks. The larger engine manufacturers will come along, but they’re still coming to terms that LA and Long Beach’s Mayors mean business — just not business for combustible technologies.

US Hybrid clearly proud of their all-electric trucks, which it should be.
