Q&A
Nothing is learnt by sitting in silence.
We ask questions. We probe, we investigate, to satisfy our inner human desire to know. That’s why we have the news; to feed us nibbles of information, data about someone, something else, somewhere on the planet. We ask questions and demand an answer. We’ve always done it. “Why is the sky blue?” Don’t fucking ask me, how am I meant to know? I’m no God. Do I look like a library?
In the same way, us humans are leeches, sucking microscopic irrelevant details from trivial, futile matters, in order to please our inner heroin addict.
That’s what it is, there’s no simpler way to put it.
It’s an addiction.
We’re dependent on clucking our way through life, chickens producing eggs of rumour and gossip; triumph and turmoil. Some grand adventure, watched and manipulated by a judge, jury and executioner.
Life is like a YouTube video. Your story is on display for everyone to see; you got good grades? Here’s a thumbs up. You got arrested? Here’s a thumbs down. I disagree with you. Here’s a comment ripping into the way you look and sound, because I’m incapable of formulating an intelligent argument.
You know what? Nobody gives a shit.
It’s your life, your movie, your story you’re telling. Tell it how you like, do what you want. You make mistakes, just make sure you climb right back up.
No matter how steep, the mountain always has a summit. No one said it was going to be easy, and it really isn’t.
Nothing is learnt by sitting in silence.
The mistakes you make are a encyclopedia of actions that are never to be made again. A guide on how not to live, and what not to do. They build who you are, and shape the right moves you make.
I’m young, I’m stupid, so let me make mistakes; one day I’ll use them. Preach them as gospel, a fairytale of the man I used to be.
