LIT PROJECT THREE (AND ZERO)

Litizens it’s time!!

Let’s wind the clock back, and start first back at the beginning. So far every LIT project has spoken to key elements of the crypto culture.

  • Neil’s book reminded us how to navigate the risky and unexpected!
  • The Degenaissance showed the importance of crafting our own space
  • Robert, a worthy oracle, held up a mirror to our reactions when the number goes up and number goes down.
  • Kim & Peter reminded us to pay attention to the voice in our head, the director.
  • TIME & Vitalik reminded us of the significance of capturing the potential of what we have in this moment of time.

So what then for Project Three?

Project Three takes a leap forward while Project Zero steps us back in time.

Backwards? Ask yourself.. What did LIT launch before Project 1?

Why of course, we launched the $LIT token.

It’s an order that has raised many eyebrows..
An inverse of a normal project order.
A departure of how things are usually done.

Is this a token, or an NFT project? A meme coin or a DAO?

To launch a token before a project, plant the seed for a DAO before a community even exists. To start at the end and work backwards.. So we can rewrite the order, to go forward in a totally new way.

LIT wants to move things around a little.
To change up the order of things.
To create something new.
Innovate

Everything so far has paved a path in one direction.

This is not just Project Three
It’s also Project Zero

Welcome to LIT Project Three and.. Project Zero.

PROJECT THREE - THE GAME

Nokia Snake Game via Tenor

Launched in 1997 with the Nokia 6110, Snake is said to have signalled a new era in mobile gaming. Snake quickly became a staple of the mobile gaming revolution. At one stage during the Snake II peak time in the early 2000’s the game was played on over 350 million devices worldwide.

What the LIT team discovered was that the original concept for the Snake game was from a 1976 arcade game called Blockade, which was actually a multiplayer version of Snake game.

So we at team LIT asked ourselves what would a LIT multi-player, crypto version of the Nokia Snake Game look like?

INTRODUCING THE LIT SQUIGGLE GAME

Chromie Squiggle #9611Snowfro

We see Artblocks, and the on-chain art movement, to be of immense importance to the culture of this new technology movement. Just as the Snake game signalled a new era in mobile gaming, Snowfro, his incredible team and cohort of amazing artists at Artblocks ushered in a new era of onchain artistic and cultural expression.

So today we celebrate them.
We are no longer snakes, we are Squiggles.
We are no longer single players, we are connected.

Just like Nokia, LIT Squiggle Game is designed especially for mobile. You can play it by swiping left and right on your screen, directly from your Opensea account.

The aim of the game?

The Squiggle Game is the ultimate Mintpass.
Yes, that’s right it’s a mintpass.

How does it work?

Back in the day, the snake game degens would wonder; what if I could see everyones score, what if I could compete and put my snake skills to the test..

Well.. the time has come.

The LIT Squiggle Game comes equipped with its own custom-built on-chain scoreboard that will be the centre stage for the Squiggle Game Challenge.

SQUIGGLE GAME CHALLENGE

All Squiggle Game holders have three weeks (3) from the time of the first token minted to dodge and weave your way with to your highest score.

When you are absolutely sure that you have hit peak performance and hit your highest score, you can choose to lock that score to your NFT and secure your place on the leaderboard and in history.

Each NFT only offers one chance to lock in your score. Then it is set. You can no longer change or update once it has been locked on chain.

All locked scores will be sent to a leader board, which will update live during the challenge period until the time runs out and the leader board will be set forever.

So what are you competing for?

This is where Project Zero comes in.
There is one thing that Litizens have asked us for more than all others. It’s also the one thing that we knew we would have to do in a way unlike any other.

LIT’s very own PFP project.

PROJECT ZERO - THE SUPERHERO PFP

Artwork by Dave Johnson, 2008, Civil War Trading card box art final

Litizans are more than normal citizens, you are not just participants of the culture, but creators of it. You are the builders, artists and the community that trust the process, that collaborate, that don’t compromise on quality and always push the bounds of innovation.

You are, in fact, a new kind of superhero.

Litizans are here, in crypto, early, at the pointy end of innovation, ready to embrace a new world order that includes both sovereignty and collaboration. The self and the commons.

There are many PFPs in the market, with artwork of all kinds, from apes to cats and toadz to goblins. We noticed that many of these projects are set up around characters that people then set out to relate to. Twisting your identity to fit the narrative created for you.

LIT is taking a different path.

Let’s start with the base..

Who better to craft the image of heroes of the future than the artists responsible for some of the most known historical figures, straight from the comic books we love; DC Comics & Marvel.

Introducing LIT’s PFP artist — Dave Johnson.

Dave Johnson is an American comic book artist. Dave began his career in 1985 and shortly after was hired by Dark Horse Comics and one year later he started working for DC’s imprint Impact Comics on the title ‘The Web’. His first official DC Comics publication was in 1992 in the Demon title and since then he has worked on many other titles including R.E.B.E.L.S.; Wonder Woman, The Spectre, Spiderman: Red Son, and more. Dave is also the co-creator of Ben 10.

Dave earned the 2002 Eisner Award for Best Cover Artist for Detective Comics.

He was also nominated for an Eisner in 2004 for his work on the critically acclaimed DC Elseworlds miniseries Superman: Red Son, which is now a perennial best seller in graphic novel form. Dave has won future awards for 100 Bullets and was nominated again for an addition Eisner Award in 2021.

Dave is considered by many as one of the best cover artists in the world.

What comes along with this incredible artwork is a roadmap of collaboration and creation to craft the story of Project Zero, but more on this later!

The Squiggle Challenge will define your place in the order of minting your PFP. There is something special for the top 100, top 10 and if you make it to the top three you will be gifted a one of one hand drawn artwork by Dave, the rarest items in the PFP collection.

A quick recap

Let’s pause to summarise what we know so far..

  1. Project Three is LIT Squiggle game. An onchain crypto version of the Nokia snake game, connected and ready to play.
  2. Project Zero is the LIT PFP project with artwork by Dave Johnson, an award winning DC Comic cover artist!
  3. The Squiggle Game will be a mint pass, via a community wide Squiggle Game Challenge, with a live onchain leaderboard, where Litizens and our connected communities will play over three weeks to try to win incredible artwork by renowned DC comic artist Dave Johnson.
