I have studied many articles such as this and a number of companies. Last year I wrote an article entitled THE FIVE PILLARS OF JOB SATISFACTION (and resulting loyalty and productivity). The traits that you cite are more narrow. I go one level higher to the five core elements that great cultures need to have, and can be iterated company to company based on what is right for your situation. Think of it like the 4 Ps of marketing. If you were to ask how to build a great marketing program you would start by identifying the 4 Ps (well 5 if you count Positioning) that you have to work with…and then you shape them to your situation. Same idea.
These pillars are common to all great cultures. Just executed differently!
