FedEx Express announces £20,000 grant to help small businesses expand

FedEx Express has announced a £20,000 grant to help provide support to small businesses in the UK that are looking to expand and go global.

The Small Business Grant will be launched as a competition, with entries being open to small businesses until 4th April 2017.

Small businesses that are employing up to 99 members can now register online and showcase their future growth ambitions to be in with a chance of winning the £20,000 grant. FedEx Express will also be awarding a £10,000 grant to the runner-up.

The first stage of the competition will give businesses the opportunity to promote their growth ambitions on a public profile page using photos or a short video, with those who apply also being given the chance to see the stories of other entrants.

Ten finalists will then be announced on 12th April and will be sent an email inviting them to submit their business story for a second time. FedEx Express will then announce the winners of the competition on 9th May.

FedEx Express Managing Director, Sales UK North Martin Davidian commented: “UK small businesses have remained resilient over the last year, further strengthening their image as agile and adaptable to evolving landscapes. At FedEx, we strongly believe SMEs are the pinnacle of the UK economy and we are passionate about supporting their international endeavours.”

He added that with globalisation, more businesses are recognising the value of exporting to drive revenue growth and that the FedEx Small Business Grant provides small businesses with the opportunity to realise their full international potential.
