Forgotten

You took an eraser and removed me effortlessly

As if in passing, moving on to your next task

Reigning

Instantly I didn’t exist; I never did

What is truth, answered

Weaned off a mother’s womb, motherless

Always without one shoe, unpaired

Lazy, carefree summer days, evaporated

Vanished, no known language

Absent breath, speechless and inaudible

Imaginary moments became just that

One trace, a remnant of a hollowed heart

An aching never more real

A discovery, never more painful

There were no parting gifts

I see you

You see nothing, riddance

Once found, discovered

Was it chance?

Never been

Forgotten
