Both things I highlighted in your response are very true, I think. In this case though, they collide. Not because they can’t coexist, but because it’s too easy to assume they don’t. I hope she did inspire other young women in a positive way, whether she agreed to speak because she cared to be involved in the discussion or because she cared to be involved in the show. But maybe she doesn’t have that kind of leverage after all. Not just yet, at least. If she was truly making an effort, I hope she does it again.
