What Should Not Be Missed While in Ladakh?

Leh-Ladakh trip is definitely once-in-a-lifetime trip that refills the colors in your monotonous routine. It is a place where you stop facebooking and do some real new face readings while interacting with the locals, do bird watching rather than tweeting and soak your soul in the timeless beauty of nature. It is a place where time stops and let you engross the moments. Ladakh had been in my travel bucket list for quite long time and this year I got to realize this dream and traded the desktop wallpapers with the real pictures of Ladakh.

If you are also planning to visit Ladakh then here are few things that should not be missed at any cost. Here I am listing few of the things that I experienced but trust me that Ladakh is more than that can be described in the words.

Get Enthralled- You are driving on the Highest Motor-able Roads

Kahrdung La Pass is considered as one of the highest motor-able road. However, it does not seem like a road but it is the best indeed. While you are driving on this road, you would be amazed at the sight of colored Tibetan flags in snowy mountains. Well, being at funny side, these Tibetan flags are supposed to hold off the bad spirits for your safety concerns.

Ramble Across the Cradling Mountain Ranges

The Himalayan ranges and Karakoram ranges will accompany you on your entire trip. The beautiful rivers flowing in between these ranges will give you an amazing view while you will see the shades of mountains and skies in the crystal clear water of the serene lakes. The panoramas will definitely trouble the butterflies in your stomach. Just stroll all around to see the sun rising out of these echoing mountains.

Capture the Endless Canvas of Gorgeous Lakes

The astonishing sight of Tso Moriri Lake and Pangong Lake make you feel nostalgic and you could easily recall the scenes of Bollywood flick 3 Idiots. The canvas is full of blue skies, green landscapes, blue greenish enchanting water and white faces of mountains. What else you need to make a perfect picturesque? However, boating is not permitted at Pangong Lake but you can enjoy the camping here and relish ice skating at the bank of this frozen lake.

Feel the Superpowers at Magnetic Hill

Magnetic Hill is known for its unnatural phenomenon of magnetizing the vehicles. To experience it, you have to park your cars at the base and it will be mounted uphill. Magical it is. Yes, these are super powers that one gets to witness while on the voyage to Ladakh.

Magnificent Monasteries for the Inner Peace

The monasteries date back to the rich history of Ladakh. The amicable ambience, soul lifting surroundings and marvelous architecture are the common things to make every traveler spell bound. However, each monastery has got unique reason to pay a visit. Spituk, Namgyal, Hemis, Lamayuru and Likir are few of monasteries to name here.

Go Daring in the Wilderness Beauty

Zanskar River is the ideal pick to do rafting and just remember even in the peak summers the water will be freaking cold. So, if you are daring enough to ride down and want to experience this adventurous sport then go for it.

Wildlife sanctuaries and zoos have got the favorable climatic conditions here. Snow leopard is easily sighted in this region. However, to get the excellent experience of wildlife visit the local zoos.

As I told you earlier that no words are enough to explain this mystic land, so is true. There is much more that has not been explained here and those things that I would like to mention briefly here are the lip smacking dishes, affable local people, the hilarious road signs, camel safari, yak safari, shopping and star gazing. The above words and pictures must have awakened your travel bug to visit Ladakh. So, just pack your bags and get the spine chilling experiences for forever.
