Umoja/U.N.I.T.Y. for Black Girl Mental Health? — Why not?!?

What if we lived in a world where we were able to be supported by women in our own likeness (as opposed to the “no new friends” ideal that we’ve come to adopt)?

What if every black girl in the world (regardless of her individual nature) shared a unified field of thoughts, emotions and actions that ensured a real and practiced sense of unity and togetherness in our individual experiences?

What if we self-consciously united instead of separating due to self-consciousness?

What if our political (terms of interaction with in-groups and out-groups) and ethical (sense of right and wrong for the collective) needs were intertwined with the way we establish, maintain, expand and refine shared interests and goals.

What if we lived in a world where we DID love black women from infinity to infinity?

What if we replaced “what if” with why not?
