I would never have thought I would ever write what Im about to. If you call the Doctor and go back just ten years and tell me what Im about to do I would laugh and tell you to cut down on the larger!

First off; I love england Ive grown up with stories, how your country was the beacon of hope, in one of the darkest times in european history.

Next; Im an avid EU opponent, always was. For the exact same reasons that most of the Brexit side is talking of. I dont, and stil dont, believe that EU should poke their noses in national concerns. To list all I dislike about the EU would take hours and its not relevant to this in any way.

Ive been following the debate across the water, and talked to some friends both in the UK and in Europe, about this referendum you have been given. What I see, and bare with me, is the brits being brits and that quality is one that a lot of us love, but its also tripping you up when it shouldnt.

I said that England stood as a beacon of hope during 1941–1945, and you can take a big part of the credit that we were able to fight back all across europe. Now why is that? Some would say it was your spirit, your resilience, your ingenuity and not to mention that famous stiff upper lip. I would say no and yes, you had all that and a strategic advantage because of your geografical position in Europe, but the biggest factor was that your leaders knew they could not fight this alone, they needed the citizens across the continent, and established connections to the various resistance movements across the continent. You worked with us to fight the enemy and keep the peace stabil. Was it easy? No! Do people that is still alive from that period have scars, yes they do! But ask them if the fight was worth it?

What I dont understand now is why you want to leave? Because you dont like the monster in our house? Where is that proud people I know and love so much? Can you make it on your own, yes sure, I believe you could, no question, the how and how long and so on is not the issue here.

Take a few minutes, hold the period where your country and your people, fought agaisnt another monster in the same house, steady in your mind. Now look across europe and within your own country and see the offspring of that particular monster is rearing its head and is ready to pounce, not just the continent but all of europe and the world if we let it.

Extremism isnt only the ones with diferent beliefs with different gods to worship they are also our neighbour, the ones that look like us, with the same cultural background like us. You of all people know this.

So Brittons, the day is tomorrow, the day where you decide if you want to help us fight the two monsters in our house, the EU and the european ekstremists. We have to work together on this like we did 70–75 years ago. Work with the countries that feel like you do, work with the parties across europe that also believes that the EU has become a monster that needs a firmer hand, needs to listen to the common citizens, to work within democracy. Will this be easy? No it wont, but it needs to be done, we all need to face the realities of the present, learn from our history to have the future we want not the future a few in some office far away from us thinks it should be.

The monster in our house needs to be tamed, will you stand with us or will you stand outside the window and yell at us telling how we should do it? We need you, the strong, resiliant, stubborn, stiff upper lip Brittons, for all the same reasons we needed you 70–75 years back.

Wish you all the best in your decision tomorrow and no matter what you decide, you will always be the people I love, as much as I love the people I grew up with, the danes.

With love
