What if you could get a pair of AirPods for $79? That’s a rather good deal, even for the original ones that don’t feature active noise cancellation or wireless charging.

You can’t, but you can buy OnePlus’s impressive and very AirPod-like OnePlus Buds for $79 starting today and, yes, if all this is TLDR, they are worth every penny.

As I type this, I’m listening to the Pretender’s scorching new album Hate for Sale via Apple Music on my OnePlus 8 Pro. Chrissie Hynde’s voice is clear as a bell (gosh, she still sounds amazing), the classic Pretender’s guitar sounds alternately smooth and scratchy, just like it did on some of their earlier hits. The iconic bass is solid (if not particularly rich). All of this, the good and bad of the audio, is due to the OnePlus’s first-ever truly wireless, Bluetooth, in-ear audio devices.
