Hobbs State Park | Things to do in Arkansas
Our family is on a family road trip around Arkansas. We wanted to go to Hobbs State Park because we heard that it was one of the best of the Arkansas state parks.
Someone told us that the visitor’s center was incredible, and we wanted to go for a family hike.
The Visitor’s center was great. They had clean bathrooms, a water bottle filling station, lots of activities and exhibits for kids and adults, and it seems like every day they have a new activity going on.
I wanted to ask the rangers a few questions about which hiking trail was beset for us, and if there was a place to swim nearby. They were very helpful and could answer everything very thoroughly.
On the trail, we decided on the Pigeon Roost trail. We wanted to go on a trail that had an overlook, and the ranger directed us to the perfect one since we had two kids in two. We hiked 1 mile in to the overlook and then 1 mile back. It was a hot June day, so this was perfect.
The rangers gave the kids an activity to do while on the trail, and if they finished most of it, they could earn a prize. They were very excited when we got back to the visitor’s center to collect.
All-in-all, we had a great day hiking at Hobbs State Park. If you want more of our adventures, follow us on YouTube and Instagram.
