On a side note, I think sensible borrowing is perfectly reasonable! Interest rates today are at a historic low so if there was ever a time in human history to borrow money, it’s now!

How much use you put that money too is a whole different ball game. Yes you could spend it on consumer goods but you could just as equally use it to turn an idea whizzing around your head into a business.

I think some kind of community service experience on it’s own would have a great effect in establishing a patriotic and politically environment. Even if it’s an expensive endeavour I think having a public mood keen for seismic reform is a prerequisite to any kind of tax shake up.
