Over the course of her career, Laura Harring has balanced artistic achievement with service to others. She began volunteering at the age of 18 as a social worker in India, a role that she took on to help improve living conditions for villages located in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains. Engaging in physically challenging manual labor, including digging ditches, carrying rocks and building schools, Laura Harring gained satisfaction in positively impacting the lives of communities in need.

Harring went on from this experience, to pursue artistic expression as an actor. She trained at the London Academy of Performing Arts, where she studied Shakespearen acting and studied with a multitude of great acting teachers such as Allan Rich, Stella Adler, and Silvana Gallardo. Years before, she learned the classical technique of Commedia Dell’Arte. Harring can perform Commedia in both the Italian and French styles as well as dance most of the ballroom and Latin dances, such as the tango, cha cha, salsa, merengue and bachata.

Ms. Harring has since performed opposite such renowned actors as Forest Whitaker, Denzel Washington, William Hurt as well as Javier Bardem, all of whom won Academy Awards. Harring always held her won. Harring starred opposite Mr. Barden in the adaptation of nobel prize winning author Gabriel Garcia Marquez’ novel, Love in the Time of Cholera. But it was when Laura Harring starred in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, acknowledged by multiple polls as the Best Movie of the 21st Century, that Laura was really noticed. After Mulholland Drive’s release, Ms. Harring secured roles in such films as The King, and Marvel’s The Punisher, then The Caller, The Poet and others. In the small screen, Harring can be seen in recurring characters in a number of cool and chic television shows, including Gossip Girl and The Shield, as well as several of the Law and Order brand television shows.
